Melanie’s term on the committee is to run from 2025 – 2028.

The Spokeswomen Committee within NSW Dept Climate Change, Energy, Environment and Water is a peer-based advocacy group.  It’s role in the department is to listen, support and advocate women’s issues with the aim to make the work environment more responsive to women’s needs.

During time on the committee, Melanie lead or organised the following activities:

• 2025 strategic user survey
• Creation of the Spokeswomen Strategy Plan for 2026 – 2030
• Evolve program (cohort Sept 2025) – which included being invited to be a guest speaker
